In Arizona for the first time, my visit to Glendale (and Phoenix) was primarily for the U2 concert at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Looking like an alien spaceship, the stadium was situated in the middle of the desert and seemed out-of-place. But so it seems like for the rest of Phoenix, an oasis city of shining glass in the midst of a hot desert.
