After seeing the rain forecast for our original camping trip to Twin Lakes, Alberta (near Rocky Mountain House and Nordegg), Nathania and I decided to go to a different site for our first camping trip. We reserved the last campground in William A. Switzer Provincial Park. It was well equipped with an electrical outlet, running water, and fire pit. It was 30 minutes northeast of Jasper National Park so it was ideal to go hiking in the mountains from this spot. We had hiked/walked the Gregg Lake Trail, the Pocohontas Coal Mine Trail, and to the Jasper House National Historic Site. As we do on each trip to Jasper, we made sure we took a dip in the Miette Hot Springs to help ease our tired bodies.
