Our third FIFA World Cup match was a Round-of-16 game between Uruguay and Colombia. I was excited about this game – but that was before Luis Suarez had biting Chielini and was angling for a move away from Liverpool FC. Needless to say, I was in awe to finally make it to the iconic Maracanã, and enjoyed the festive mood. As Jorge had mentioned, a South American game is at a different level, a higher quality of intensity than European matches. He was right. The singing was enthralling. In the end, Colombia won by two wonder goals by James Rodriguez against a toothless Uruguayan attack.
