The one and only time I was at a Liverpool FC game was for Steven Gerrard’s testimonial match in July 2013. This time around, I made it to a competitive game, and it was at night. Such a difference in atmosphere and intensity. It was a fourth round League Cup match against Bournemouth where we saw Jurgen Klopp’s first win as manager. Prior to the game, I did the stadium tour, and was impressed by the expansion of the Main Stand. A blight of an area, I can’t wait to see the rest of the Anfield regeneration completed. I also visited the renovated LFC museum and appreciated the five European Cups on display. Before heading into the Kop, I grabbed a pint at the Sandon, where Liverpool FC had been established in 1892.
