Haifa, Israel

As part of our day trip around the north-west part of the Galilee, Alan took in and around Haifa. In addition to the Elijah sites on Mount Carmel, we went to the beautiful Ba’hai Gardens, enjoyed the best food we had on the trip in a Druze restaurant in Daliat el-Carmel, and walked around the very colourful German Colony. In the 20th century, a religious Protestant sect formed in southern Germany century called The Templers. In the 1870s, they settled in Palestine in the belief that living in the Holy Land would hasten the second coming of Christ.
