My friend Alex was great in getting us tickets for the opening match (Canada v. China) of the Women’s Football World Cup in Edmonton. It’s my second World Cup in a row, as last summer I was in Brazil for the men’s World Cup. It was a fun and family atmosphere at Commonwealth Stadium. I thought it was a fantastic game, with a level amount of shots on target, and a few hitting the woodwork. A penalty was awarded to Canada in injury time at the 92nd minute, with striker Christine Sinclair clinically slotting in the shot in the bottom left corner. Wonderful and thrilling start to the tournament for Team Canada!
