For New Year’s Eve, we wanted to relax at the Dead Sea. After finding that the wind and drizzle was not making our morning fun at the free beach in Ein Bokek, we decided to enjoy the day at the Crowne Plaza. The hotel also had access to the Dead Sea, but when the weather was not cooperating, we were able to go enjoy its indoor pool, hot tub, and lunch buffet. It was a fun day to relax after nearly two weeks of intense sightseeing.
Like my first encounter with the Dead Sea (on the Jordan-side) during my 2008 trip with Niki and Petur, it was still pretty surreal to effortless float on this intensely salty body of water. The Dead Sea is so salty that you can see the white salt formations along the shore. The water is not something you want in your eyes.
