Edmonton, Canada – WWC Round of 16

Alex, Nathan, Stephen and I watched a round of 16 match featuring top ranked US versus Colombia. The first half was combative and appeared that the game could go either way. The red card, after Colombia’s keeper Perez swept the legs of Alex Morgan at the edge of the penalty area, was a decisive turning point. Playing with 10 players for 45 minutes was a big task for Colombia. While Wambach missed the ensuing penalty, Morgan scored later in open play and Lloyd was able to place the ball in the net for her penalty kick. Couldn’t help but feel bad for the Colombians, but quality from the Americans (and the advantage of the red card) saw them through to the quarter-finals.

I’m really enjoying Bono’s autobiography #SurrenderMemoir. Incredible perspectives of his upbringing and influences in Dublin.

Last image on this post has a snippet of an IEM recording I took from the Auckland rehearsal on November 3, 2019. New Zealand in a way is In God’s Country.

This song (and album) is the soundtrack to my 2008 summer backpack travels in Egypt, Jordan, and Israel (Jerusalem, of course).

Got a GA ticket for this show - nice to be back after 3 years to be on the floor and on the rail. Was able to get my camera in for these photos.
