Attending the Summer Institute for Survey Research Techniques through the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan, so far it’s been a great experience to be at a different school and be immersed in one of North America’s leading institutions for quantitative survey research analysis. For those familiar, this is the epicenter and birthplace of postmaterialist theory, and Inglehart’s office is on the same floor where my institute is situated. I’ve met some really bright people from all over the place, some from Germany, others from Japan, or from the US. Most participants are also PhDs from other universities, while a few work for consultancy firms or organizations like the UN. Here are a few pictures of the U of M’s beautiful campus.
