Jerusalem was THE highlight of my trip, visiting the Holiest of Holies was truly overwhelming. Crossing overland from Jordan (via the Allenby Bridge) into Palestine and to Jerusalem, the border control was slow but easier than I thought. Seeing the Church of the Holy Sepulcher (where Catholics and Orthodox Christians believe Christ was crucified, died and buried) was awe inspiring. Walking along the stations of the Cross and to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Mount of Olives was amazing. As well as going to the place of the Last Supper was touching. In addition, seeing the Wailing Wall and the Temple Mount made it tangibly easy to see why Jerusalem is the crossroads of the Abrahamic religions. Despite the strong presence of security and attack on Jaffa Road (a road we walked on 2 days after we were there) I hope to go back one day soon.
